About Pouncey family
This page is an endeavor to record the lives of direct descendants of Anthony Pouncey, who died in South Carolina in 1767. Living persons have been excluded but will be added to the site after they pass.
You can read our 2005 hardcover book, "Descendants of Anthony Pouncey," on the free LDS
genealogy web site, www.familysearch.org . Click on the site map to reach historical books,
then search for Pouncey, and it will be the first hit. The surname index is at the back of the
book. You may read any of the 480 pages or browse the book.
In the 15 years since publication, we have corrected several errors that we missed in
that first volume. If you find a fact or a linkage in the book that you question, or that you
would like to add to your database, please contact Temple Pouncey at tcpouncey@gmail.com, to
see if there is an update available on that entry. We have corrected or updated several hundred
entries in the last few years, and we have added dozens of Anthony's descendants who were
unknown to us in 2005.
There are no more printed copies of this book, although we donated a few to genealogy
libraries. If you would like to get the updated book on disk or flash drive, please send a
message to tcpouncey@gmail.com , and you will be answered promptly.
This site is a work in progress. Some persons listed here may have more children or spouses
than what appears here; the intent is to complete the information as time permits.
Please browse this site, and if it interests you, contact the author at tcpouncey@gmail.com .
Please notify others that Tribal Pages sites are accessible and searchable at no charge. Please
sign the guest book so that I know you visited.
Even as we continue our research, we lack vital details on hundreds of our cousins and
ancestors, as well as photos. To learn how you could help, please e-mail me at
tcpouncey@gmail.com . Thanks to all those who have contributed information, photos, and
histories about their ancestors. You may view photographs of the gravestones of more than 700
Pounceys on the web site, www.findagrave.com . This is a free site. You may contribute to it,
suggest additional information or corrections, or contact other contributors.
If you would like to receive an occasional newsletter from this site holder, with newly
uncovered facts about our ancestors, send an e-mail to tcpouncey@gmail.com . I am also on
Facebook.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
